This is an issue i've been wondering ever since I saw what they call "panchangam" in our communities. Its a chart that has all the planetary positions at the instant u were born. Based on that astrologers could fortell the way ur life is gonna shape. Well at first thought i would say this is absurd. But looking at the things written and the way things have shaped, anyone in my position would say its true.
If astrologers know how that planetary positions affect the way you live, what have scientists done about it. These scientists have tried to verify the astrologers' claim and i guess the reason they're keeping quiet is that probably even they believe in it. I would like to asociate a different angle to it. If planetary forces control human existence on planet earth why havent we been able to relate it as to how. What is the missing element?
Why is match-making so popular? How do they try to associate two charts and speak of its compatibility? does it mean that the entire human race is bound by certain patterns of life formed by the permutations and combinations of the planetary positions?
The worst thing that happened off late was this - my parents tried something known as the "olai chuvadi" or rather " naadi josiyam". All you have to do is that you give ur thumb imprssion and name. and based on that the person would pick up an olai chuvadi (for those who dont know what olai chuvadi is...these are ancients writings on leaves about lots of things) and well guess what....its written in that as to what my grand ma's name is...what my grandpa's name is...and plus loads of stuff about my entire family. And you wouldnt believe it...RECORDS OF PREVIOUS BIRTHS...now this is something i did not believe. But somebody gimme a reason why I should not.
Is my life based on the patterns formewd on my thumb. Have these patterns got to do anything with the planetary positions?

i think its true.. here's some reason 4 y I say so;
1. all the awesome stories I hear frm friends who've seen it... even those who were laughing about it before seeing it is now shaking their head in disbelief!!
2. recently I saw a programme in discovery channel about 'olai chuvadi' n was stunned.. a Japenese guy was shocked to hear all about him (n his family) frm a stranger Indian, so much apart frm his own country... wat technology did the Indians have in advance of the Japenese to track down this Japenese guys' history??
3. If u believe in phsycic power, then this is one of such u can say... if Notradamus can see the future n predict it.. y cant the holy gurus see the same?
4. N I strongly believe in faith... destiny.. but its just so complicated that it works in a way that if 'A' is suppose to happen but turned out that u choosed to do 'B' instead..the result will turn out as 'c' rather than wat was suppose to happen... n then the turn of event will take a different flow altogether or with just a slight change...
5. Speaking so confidently of all the above..I myself have not been given the chance to see my 'olai chuvadi'. I know that u'll only get to see it if your 'time to see it has come'.. u know.. all of a sudden , somehow u'll have the feeling to see your own 'olai', and thats' whn u'll find the way to go see it...that's why its called nadi josiyam...whereby u go lookin for it..nadi as in seek ('thedi')..
until today i'm looking for the opportunity to see my 'olai'...
its a real mystery...but one thing I know for sure is that..watever u hear frm the 'olai' should not be let to influence you in your life to come...though difficult to do so...

They try to get all answers indirectly by asking you in othey ways.

Please... this is absurd. We live in the 21st century. Statistics plays a big role here (and the numbers are growing) so any random rambling will be true in someones life. It is like beleiving that you have to pray follow some rituals and chant in some ancient language to be safe and get your wishes fulfilled.

many of my friends and relatives have seen nadi and they are telling it is true. for one of my friend, they told from where the spouse will come and it happened exactly. not in position to comment it.
But when i also went to see it out of curiosity, by reading many nadi they asked whehter the details matched and it did not match with any nadi. by the end of reading, they collected many details like birthdate and time, profession, education, natshaktra and rasi. i don't know whether they will predicate something with the details given and tell us.
I strongly feel, if we believe in God, we shouldn't go for these astrology. Let things happen as He plans and lets dance to His tune.
Hi, i went to vaitheeswaran koil this past friday ..me & my friends tried nadi josiyam ( at an very high price..).. somehow though they are able to say the names of family but i feel these guys are very well trained in asking the right questions & knocking down the options by permutations & combinations.. for ex.he will ask if ur dad's name starts with ''ka sa da tha pa ra''..then they start doing the guess work... i dont know if this is all true to predict the future & past...i just decided to leave it to destiny..what hsa to happen will happen no matter what we do.. just do it for fun sake..dont get into the parikaram part of it..it is pure phony..
they will say all negative first, then parikaram & what follows after the parikaram is absolute positive life, no problems whats so ever..that is when i started feeling this whole thing is little cooked up....but again try it for the fun of it..dont get too serious about this..

I went as a sceptic , still am .I am a hindu married to a punjabi and olai managed to get my wifes name. well for me i think i practically gave out the answer. after a couple of hundred questions, anybody with good memory and with fair understanding of probability would be able to do that . using this technic , i think a japanese name should be possible to decipher too. trust me folks , life gets even complicated after getting yr reading. sometimes its better off not knowing your future . i have seen quite a number of them who follow this too much and led an unhappy life
,and still wasting their time figuring out what the olai really meant.the future could not be possibly written by someone based on info available thousands of years ago . even using science planetary rotation and its effects , could be very different then.
